3 Places to View Fireworks on the Emerald Coast this Summer
by Whitney Lee

What better way to wrap up an evening in the sun than grabbing dinner and watching a show-stopping fireworks display with your family and friends? Here are three places to view fireworks on the Emerald Coast this summer.

1. The Village of Baytowne Wharf

Turn your eyes on the sky and watch as the Village of Baytowne Wharf lights up the night with a breathtaking, music-synced fireworks display over the lagoon. Since this display happens on Tuesdays, Gulfgate guests can head over to Baytowne after sipping on a happy hour cocktail

While the fireworks aren’t until later in the evening, there are plenty of restaurants and shops around to keep you busy. Additionally, you can catch a DJ Dance Party at 7:15PM in the Events Plaza as part of their “Boomin Tuesdays” event.

Dates: Tuesday evenings from May 24, 2022 through August 9, 2022

Time: 9:15 PM

Best spots to view: The top two spots to view the show from are Baytowne Events Plaza Lawn and the boardwalk over the lagoon, but there are several great spots to view on many of the docks and boardwalks around Baytowne.

Where to eat: Check out the outdoor dining patio at Marina Bar and Grill for a bite to eat and a view of the fireworks! You can also view them from the upstairs balcony of Slick Lips Seafood and Oyster House or Rum Runners, which is located directly on the lagoon.

2. The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island

Watch the night's sky light up the Gulf with your family and friends. Make it a dinner & show with a front-row view from any of The Boardwalk's restaurants, or grab a quick treat and spread out along the beach to watch the fireworks blast off from the pier.

Dates: Wednesday evenings from June 1, 2022 through August 10, 2022

Time: 9:00 PM

Best spots to view: The fireworks are set off at the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. You can view the show from the beach, the pier, or visit any of the restaurants around the Boardwalk for a great view!

Where to eat: Restaurant options at the Boardwalk include Rockin Tacos, The Crab Trap, Floyd’s Shrimp House, and Al’s Beach Club. If you’re looking for a great place to watch the sunset and relax before heading to the Boardwalk, check out The Gulf right around the corner!

3. The Destin Harbor

Kick off your Thursday evenings in Destin with All American Thursday at Harborwalk Village. The evening starts with a vintage air show and hero salute at 6:30 PM, followed by live entertainment at the harbor. After that is the fireworks show and even a fire spinning show!

Dates: Thursday Nights from May 31, 2022 through August 11, 2022

Time: 9:00 PM

Best spots to view: Since the fireworks display is right at The Destin Harbor, you can view the show from almost any of the waterfront restaurants and around the harbor.

Another great spot is Norriego Point Public Beach, which can be accessed by following Gulf Shore Drive until it dead ends. You can also watch by boat from the area around Crab Island and the harbor.

Where to eat: Harborwalk Village is full of restaurants to grab a bite at, many of them even have an amazing view for fireworks! These spots include Harry T’s, Margaritaville, and more! Bonus: Two nearby restaurants recommended by locals are Boshamps (hello, private beach) and Harbor Docks.

If you are staying with us at Destin Gulfgate this summer, be sure to catch one of these fireworks shows!
